The CV2295 (the prototype was the 3E29) is closely related to the 829B American pattern VHF double tetrode and has the same pin connections. However, the CV2295 and 3E29 were specifically designed for pulse modulator service rather than for use as a VHF PA.
The KB/D identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the D identifies the maker as Mullard Radio Valve Co., Mitcham.
The twin sections with ceramic insulators to protect against the high peak voltages.
The control grids are on copper rods and the anode connections are direct to the top cap pins.
Here the cathode shape of a flattened tube is clear as is the top of the control grid.
The hard glass base is sintered for additional mechanical strength.
The wide glass tube envelope is 51 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7A base pins, is 93 mm tall.
