The CV2014 is a CV2129 with tabs welded to the base pins. The valve itself is a small transmitting beam tetrode valve for HF and low VHF use and is equivalent to the Mullard QV03-12. The addition of the tabs is post production and the original Type designation has been painted over for both the CV2129 and the 5763.
John Fielding ZS5JF has sent the following information and the RCA data-sheet.
The 5763/CV2129 was extensively used as an oscillator, multiplier or power amplifier in HF and VHF equipment. The old Marconi Instruments Q meter variable frequency oscillators used it, also used in the PSU as a series regulator valve. The useful upper frequency limit is about 300 MHz. It was also used as a driver or PA in some early Pye Telecomms VHF mobile radios before being superseded by the twin tetrode QQV03-10 type of valves.
The KB/AD identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the AD identifies the maker as Brimar - Thorn-AEI , Rochester.
The Paxolin carrier of the tabs and the added central fake spigot.
A closer look at the base. The central cylinder also has a tab fitted. The structure of the Paxolin can also be seen. It is a paper laminate impregnated with phenolic resin heated and compressed.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 60 mm tall.
