The CV4044 like its commercial equivalent the M8091, is a high performance single rectifier. These valves are special quality versions of the commercial EY84. With an anode voltage of 625 Volts a full wave rectifier is easier with two valves rather than a pair of valves in a single envelope.
The rated reservoir capacitor is 24 µF and to limit surges the circuit series resistance needs to be at least 250 Ω.
The KB/DA identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the DA identifies the maker as Mullard Radio Valve Co., Blackburn.
The reverse carries the commercial Type designation of M8091 as well as the Mullard logo and British Made.
The anode connects to the top cap. The insulated heater is a single wire.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 74 mm tall.
