The John Hodgson Collection
The RCA 502A is a gas filled tetrode thyratron. It is designated for service as a relay or as a a grid controlled rectifier. The peak current at one Amp is ten times the average current rating, as much as for a normal rectifier.
The envelope paint is gloss and the print is orange.
The thin metal tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 51 mm tall.
