The CV2984 is identical to the commercial 6080 series pass valve. The CV or common valve designation being applied to valve types selected for use by the UK government for both civil and military applications.

This double triode features anodes split into two flat ended 'U' shaped channels either side of the flat cathode/grid assemblies.

The wide glass tube envelope is 36 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins, is 84 mm tall.
