The 6X5G full wave rectifier is unusual in several respects. Firstly the valve uses a common cathode with anodes mounted vertically over the cathode tube. Secondly the valve is rated for pulse operation. In the latter case the maximum peak inverse volts is 22 kV.

In normal use the maximum reservoir capacitor is limited to 4 µF and the minimum series resistance has to be 150 Ohms.

The classic envelope is 36 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 88 mm tall.
