The CV309 is the commercial QV04-7 single beam tetrode badged for UK Government procurement. This design uses an early all glass envelope and base. The output is modest and the dissipation high in relation to the output. This suggests use as a linear amplifier rather than in class C. Alternatively the design was not efficient.
The wide glass tube envelope diameter is 31 mm, with a wider skirt, the overall length excluding the B9G base pins, is 56 mm.
