G8LSD Valve Collection
The 11E2 is an aligned grid beam tetrode. Preliminary data suggests that this valve could have been designed as a shunt modulator. The anode has a dissipation of five Watts and an anode voltage of a few kV. Again this suggests that the valve worked on the potential of the screen grid of a transmitter valve.
The picture above shows the rear of the valve whilst the picture below shows the grids that are visible through the carbonised anode.
The anode connection is taken to a side contact rather than a top cap, this could have been to save space or the valve could have been designed for a specific piece of equipment.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 70 mm tall.
