G8LSD Valve Collection
This delightful rectifier was to be designed for low current at high voltages. With 30 mA current rating this would have been used for HT supplies in specialised transmitting equipment.
The device is marked US Navy. The filament looks to be a helix of bright tungsten running vertically within the bell like anode cavity.
The wide glass tube envelope is 34 mm in diameter and, is 70 mm tip-to-tip.
