The 6BH6 is a high impedance, medium gain signal amplifier. The impedance suggests a use with tuned circuits so as to minimise the dampening effect of the valve. Such a device can be used with effect in frequency multiplying stages of transmitters or in high frequency receivers where a low frequency the local oscillator is multiplied before being applied to the mixer.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 46 mm tall.
