The EQ80 from Mullard is clearly labelled as Made in Holland. This nonode was designed for use as an FM limiter and detector and as an AF amplifier. The power rating is very low and was designed to be operated well below its maximum ratings. The special feature of this valve is the three control grids (g1, g3 and g5) all screened from each other (g2, g4 and g6) The final grid is a suppressor grid.
The side view shows that the anode is filled with spiral grids. The grid supports are visible above the top mica.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 57 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type EQ80 was first introduced in 1950. See also 1950 adverts.
