The Ever Ready A70C is a product of the time when Ever Ready purchased all their valves from Mullard. The A70C is a Mullard PenA4 and is a 1937 pentode audio output valve.For the heater power the emission is not high and the audio output achieved is small. It is specified for single ended use, as would be found in radio receivers.The gold paint on the dome carrying the information is typical Mullard as can be seen with this PenA4.The classic envelope is 49 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 115 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, private correspondence & 1043 Type A70C was first introduced in 1935.
