This exhibit, made in the Soviet Union, is a more modern construction of the 6X5GT / EZ35 full wave rectifier in that it is formed on a glass foot rather than a pinch and is 20mm shorter than the original implementation.
This design is a standard HT rectifier for low power AC mains driven equipment in the immediate post WWII period. The output of a centre tapped transformer would be applied to the anodes, the rating given is 325-0-325, the common cathode would be the output for the rectified voltage. A effective series resistance of 350Ω was required to limit surges and the reservoir capacitor had to be restricted to 16 µF.
The Zaerix brand and the other Type designation of 6X5GT.
The two sections are mounted on a common cathode at right angles to one another. Here the top anode is seen face on and the lower anode end on.
The lower anode face view.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 57 mm tall.
